TIGER STYLE
☆☆ …Tiger training builds essence/ jing, strong bones and body from the inside out, hard and soft breathing methods, spirit of combat, agility and power which explodes up from the earth...classic techniques are Tearing/ Ripping (with the famous tiger claw), Leaping, and Pouncing...chin-na is common, as are all manner of hand and leg techniques- circular and flowing, as well as staccato and linear; with simple to intricate footwork patterns...the Tiger is foundational to and utilized to some degree or in some way by many, many Asian martial styles, including Internal Styles...for instance, when I asked my teacher what the energy in the legs should be like for a taiji practitioner, he told me they should, "ripple with energy like the legs of a tiger or dragon."
