Each class will focus on new material as well as review of the previous material. All levels/ styles are welcome to join us as this material is applicable to any style of Tai Chi or CMA and related, and for new students serves as an introduction to traditional Chinese T’ai Chi Ch’uan (Taijiquan). Here is an outline of the material we will cover:
Tai Chi Principles and Concepts- classic Tai Chi Principles, 6 Harmonies, and more important fundamental Tai Chi Principles/ Concepts
Joint/Tendon/Sinew Qigong
A variety of arm swing and hand shake methods
Upper + Lower “Cloud Breathing” Methods (cleansing qigong, a.k.a. ‘Infinity Qigong’ and ‘Sun and Moon Qigong’).
Tai Chi Qigong- 6 exercises, 2 per week
Embrace the Tree Standing Meditation- 2 ways to stand including the inner nei gung, a key fundamental standing posture to activate and circulate energy, build inner strength and purify internal energy
Lotus Palm Standing Meditation- for centering mind/body/energy at lower dan-tien, naturally circulating energy and promotes tranquility/peacefulness
Tai Chi Stepping Exercises- 3 methods- forward, backwards, and sideways.
