Tai Chi Bamboo Legs and Rowing Drills- Zoom Class

This special ZOOM Class will feature a key, fundamental leg exercise known as the “Bamboo Legs” exercise. We will cover the two fundamental ways to practice this vital leg method, which utilizes slow motion rotation of the hips and lower body and weight shifting in a figure 8-like pattern to condition the legs from the inside out; thus improving circulation (blood/energy/fluids), conditioning the connective tissues/sinews/tendons and joints, and strengthening the muscles in a way directly applicable to the proper practice of Chinese style internal arts and all related martial arts and for long-term health of the legs. Sifu Mike’s teacher felt that this was the most important leg exercise there is (and he knew oh so many, many). People of ALL LEVELS/STYLES are welcome to join us, including novices in the arts.

  • Sifu Mike will also share two methods of Tai Chi Rowing Exercises, which aid in perfecting the weight shift, power generation and flow of energy from the ground/root up through to the finger-tips. Rowing, like Bamboo Legs, is an essential drill applicable to all Tai Chi and other kung fu styles.
