Keep After It..

💫 ..3 Essential Ingrediants For All Students:

1) Correct Teaching

2) Correct Practice/ Effort

3) Natural Talent

#1 is the most important, as w/o learning the proper methods and concepts/ principles even 20 hours of practice per day may only lead one far off course...#3 is least important, though of course is a key factor...my teacher's Chief Instructor, Sifu Jamie, when I was a new student was my private lesson instructor; I was totally into what I was learning and practicing every day including taking every class I was eligible for...one day he comes in, starts the class and tells me I might want to try something else, maybe this wasn't for me, I should quit! OK, no way, I listened to what he was saying respectfully, then doubled my daily practice...6 months later I was invited to try out for the Instructor Program. Later I learned my teacher had had a similar experience, his first karate teacher told him he should quit and play the tuba or something! LOL A good method to use to keep the motivated, motivated next level. 😉

Even those gifted with genius talent like Jimi Hendrix or Albert Einstein need to study and practice. Hendrix and his guitar formed one musical being, he didn’t just practice day and night, he ate, slep’t and dreamed in guitar and music. In the arts it is possible to "become" one's art, a living manifestation of it if one pursues this Path to the end...so, find a good teacher and practice and live your arts every day, keep after it, each time with "beginners mind."
